This is where cream, salt-and-pepper, or deeper aggregate character is decided. Going too deep too early can leave a busy, uneven look that is hard to even out later. 3. Densifying: a densifier reacts with the concrete to harden and tighten the surface. This step supports clarity, stain resistance, and the higher sheen stages. Skipping densifier to save time usually shows up later as a dusty or soft finish. 4. Honing and polishing: finer resin diamonds refine scratch patterns and build clarity. Each stage should remove the previous scratch pattern cleanly. Rushing stages leaves haze, swirl, or dull patches under lights. 5. Optional colour: dyes or stains can warm or darken the slab. Colour sits in the refined surface, so prep quality still decides how even it looks. 6.
